3 + 1 tips for cross-border parcel delivery

Whether you want to send a package to England, Germany, Spain or another European country, it is important to be aware of a few issues before you start packing. If you’re thinking of sending a smaller package, or possibly moving abroad, there are a few things to pay attention to. Below we collected a bunch of tips that can definitely make your life easier when sending parcels or shipping goods.

1. Proper packaging for international removals

A package sent abroad often goes through several stations and several freighters, so it is extremely important that everything is securely packed. It’s a good idea to use eco-friendly cardboard boxes that can be easily placed in the trunk of your truck. It can be advantageous if the boxes are the same size and fit well together, thus saving space.
If you want to drop off fragile items, always use multilayer, soft inner packaging, occasionally pallets.

2. Indicate your contact details

One of the basic rules of parcel delivery is that it is not enough to tape the documents requested by the parcel delivery service or required for customs on the box, as the dossier may be mixed.
It is always useful to write the contact details of the sender and recipient on the box too.

3. Do not send prohibited items!

Sending parcels to England, Germany, France and other EU countries is also extremely easy.
However, it is important to know that the transport of luggages and goods is regulated in all countries, so, among other things, weapons, ammunition, drugs, aerosols, dangerous products, clinical waste, batteries, animals and plants must not be shipped in packages.

+1. Customs clearance of parcels

Although parcel delivery and distribution in the EU are duty-free, local customs regulations must be taken into account when sending parcels outside the EU.The pro-forma invoice must be affixed to the box in the appropriate number of copies. Remember, parcel delivery is always the responsibility of the sender.
